HEPA filters capture airborne particles. Filter efficiency and the integrity of the installed assembly are different issues.

Check the installation

Leaks may occur through media, frames or seals. A filter certificate does not replace an appropriate installed leak test.

Keep useful records

  • Filter pressure drop and airflow or velocity.
  • Visible frame, seal and media condition.
  • Leak-test results and maintenance history.

Review when conditions change

Assess abnormal readings, relevant interventions and scheduled checks. Pressure drop alone does not prove integrity. Room particle counting is not a substitute for filter leak testing.
